1969 eh ! this is a guess but i think that it was. it does'nt matter anymore by buddy Holly, i suppose i could go on the internet and find out but that would be cheating, here's some nerdy info that may be of interest to someone, the charts started in 1951 and the first ever number one was ,Here in my heart by Al Martino of the godfather film fame, it was on the capital label and my mother bought it from cowlings in Belvior street, don't ask me how much and i do not know what was on the flip side, so there !!

Well I was around and I can tell you that Buddy Holly was probably #1 in 1959. 1969 belonged to the Liverpool Sound and to the British Invasion. In fact almost all of the 60s from 63 onwards was the Liverpool sound.

Hi jan,
Thanks I could have a look on the internet, however this is much more fun! I was specifically thinking of the number 1 in July of 1969?
Kind Regards
Tina
