Hello everyone. I had two uncles who were in Leicester from just after the war until the 1980s. They were from Co. Mayo and worked in construction , primarily I think in concrete. One was Anto McDonnell and his brother was Tom McDonnell. I know Anto died and is buried in Ireland. Tom married, I think his wife was Mary and they had 2 or 3 children one of whom may have taught in the school system.. Their pub was the swan with two necks on Granby street I believe (could their be more than one with that name in Leicester?) I'd appreciate any help that I can get.
