A little over a mile north of Leicester station, there are, on either side, the remains of a viaduct that crossed the railway. The actual section across the railway was removed at some time from the mid 80s onwards, as it can be seen in a dated video I have, but the sloping arched approaches remain. On the west of the railway, it is in the vicinity of Canon Street.
Does anyone know what it was for. It was substantially constructed, and looks that old that it probably pre-dates any of the surrounding development.
