Note:
The musician John Ella was referred to in French as 'M.Ella', the "M" being for "Monsieur", a courtesy title; equivalent in English to " Sir or Mr ".

Bust of the musician John Ella (1802-1888). He was poor sighted in his later years and blind at his demise.

Raymond (born 1949) and Marie's (born 1952) wedding (14th of Feb., 2009), both having been married before. (Other pictures taken by Raymond's sons and some by Marie's family).

Picture c.1851: The Musical Union:
The musician John Ella (1802-1888) is propping-up one of his musical record books with his left hand and although he may have been left-handed (see picture with him holding a quill), he would have learned how to play the violin in a way that a right-handed person would do.

The Musical Union, 1853:
The picture of the Leicester-born musician John Ella (1802-1888) holding a quill is from the one. Note: the union was not like a workers union, it was a gathering of singers and musicians for concert practise, resulting in improvment of music during the 19th century.

This print of a young Mozart is of a colour portrait once owned by the musician John Ella. The print is in one of his books (copyright expired), titled: "Musical Sketches Abroad And At Home" (3rd. ed., 1878), by Professor Ella.
