'Marathon' as they were called... but although not a sweet as such, I used to love buying the frozen 'Tip Top' Ice sticks.

sorry sugar was on ration when i wa a kid 1939-47 no sweets but at 72 i still have most of my teeth ;D ;D ;D ;D

Jubbly. It turned your lips orange and you could really suck hard to get the juice out. I liked the name as well.

All sweet;s where rationed (war time ) so anything we could grab hold of & chew on ,so some pretty strange stuff ,what was that WOOD we use to get from the Chemist, licorice? ;D ;D ;D

I remember the shop Brucianni's - it was the treat that I got about once a month.  Being able to go in there for an icecream.  Can not remember exactly where it was but think it was down the side street of John Lewis's (I was born in 1971).
